Here are some photos I shot last week of brand new baby Benjamin! Benjamin was the perfect baby to photograph! He slept mostly, allowed us to move him around, opened his eyes when we wanted - and didn't even need a feed. What a star! Naomi (new mom) is a reporter for CTV news and writes a column weekly. At the moment she is documenting her transition into motherhood. Naomi is bubbly and vibrant which really comes through in her writing. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This week's article includes photos from our recent photography session taken at her home. Check it out by clicking on her name above.
Soooo... It's felt like giving birth (what I can imagine anyway) trying to launch the new website. It's up now! Check it out if you haven't already. I must say it was so wonderful scrolling through all my pictures from last year. I had forgotten so many of them! It really took me down memory lane. I got all emotional looking at all the faces, smiles, and beautiful people. Oh how God loves each of us so dearly... He is the author of family and everything beautiful. Above is a shoot I did for a good friend and her Lola (grandma). It's one of my favourites and reminds me how much I love my grandma too. Enjoy.
I LOVE jewish weddings. They are SO rich in family and in honoring each other. I'm not usually into traditions, I do love the Jewish tradition however, and the values signified... The Chuppah (marriage canopy) for example, is so intimate and warm. It's open on all sides just as Abraham and Sarah (of the Bible) had their tent open all sides to welcome people in unconditional hospitality. There is always so much music and dancing at the end. The joy and celebration is contagious! It amazes me that EVERYONE dances - and so fervently!
This wedding was such a delight to photograph. Jessica's glow and smile emanated every moment. Her bubbly carefree nature, and her propensity for laughter and a good time made documenting the day a joy! Both Jessica and Jason have something so genuine and beautiful between them; a deep love that that reminds me how beautiful marriage can be. Mazel Tov friends! Can't wait to show you the rest of the pictures.
Looking forward to Joanna's big day!

I am so refreshed editing these pictures today. What a privilege and joy it is to share with this new family, pictures of their new bundle of joy... I went to breakfast this morning with a special friend of mine who is pregnant; there is something so special about watching someone close to you go through this process. As I worked on the pictures below. I also thought about my friend, her excitement and what it's going to be like when she has her baby. I am so excited! I wonder what her baby will look like... what his/her personality will be... Life is so mysterious, so beautiful, so rich with gifts from above. Now onto editing a wedding...
Here at WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) in Vegas. It's a super added bonus that I get to hang out and spend time with one of my best and longest friends - Noemi (- also a fabulous photographer) I've had a chance to see LOTS of cool new products and albums - can't wait to implement everything when I get back!! It's been so great to set aside time to plan, regroup and refocus. It's so easy to stay busy and let the months roll by. I'm challenged to keep the main things the main things in my life. Great to ask the questions: where do I really want to be? What are the things I don't want to compromise? How do I define success? What are the things that are important to me? / The last few years have been the busiest ever and I'm thrilled with all the amazing people I've met and photographed, but again I need to continue to make adjustments, add some things and let go of others. I'm excited for this year and all the changes! What a gift life is, what a journey; how empty it would be walking outside God's amazingly loving arms...
PS. Here are some random pics I took the first day I got here. I just wondered down the main strip on own with my little Canon Powershot - (had to give my wrists a wrest from the big one) Vegas is certainly unique. Everything has this surreal, "play-land" sort-of feel... kind-a strange, really.
Ok - so this was absolutely one of the coolest weddings! I had such fun shooting it! (even though the temperature that day was -25 degrees celsius) The ceremony was in the fermenting cellar at the distillery. Soft blue lights glowed all around with strategically placed candles throughout. The result was like a fairy tale! Karen of "Up and Coming Events" is an amazing planner who's been in the business for over 25 years! She is truly amazing at making dreams and ideas become a reality.. The reception was two minutes away down a cobblestone path to the fabulous Boiler House. How can you go wrong? Oh I have to mention the DJ's!! Okay these guys are absolutely THE best I have ever heard! Check out Davin and Andrew of "Time Bandits Music"
I love, love, having the privilege of photographing clients when they are pregnant and then again once the baby is born! A new baby in the home! How special! What an absolutely incredible time to document people's lives! Richard and Grace are an awesome couple who live near the Beaches, downtown. I love their humor and easy-going nature. (Richard has the best english accent!) Their love for each other and their newest addition, Sydney, is truly beautiful All the best to you as new parents!
