Two doctors, two incredible people with a special love...
My favourite part of this wedding was right after the ceremony. I took Marty and Julie out on the balcony to take some photos and they got totally lost in each other... They laughed and talked and laughed - my absolute favourite subject to photograph. I love it when couples forget that I'm there...
So many tears during the ceremony. The bond they have is truly beautiful.

Yes, the details were amazing!! the venue, artistic and fun, but it was definitely the couple that made this wedding one of my favourites! Liv is bubbly, easy-going and magnetic. Brian is strong, (mysterious initially), but incredibly profound and genuine. His words to Liv during their champagne toast were truly beautiful - even Marmalade (their dog) howled, literally!! It was truly special being there and sharing in such a beautiful day!
Note to brides - sparklers after the ceremony is a great idea!

A short and intimate wedding... Mark and Amanda said their vows earlier this year in Australia - This celebration was for friends and family here in Canada. ...Another one of those days where I felt incredibly privileged to be apart of such a special time in the lives of such a fantastic and loving family. Jackie (Amanda's mom) called last Friday to say "thank-you" and express how happy she was with the pictures. It was a phone-call that I think I will always remember. Thank-you again Jackie and the family for being so incredible to work with. I wish you all of God's abundant gifts and surprises. xoxo Nikki
There are so many wonderful customs in an Asian wedding that I absolutely love. The Tea Ceremony where everyone gives you a gift in exchange for tea is just great! I love the custom at the end of the night where the bride and groom greets each table with a toast... and the little red envelope with a monetary gift for everyone (including me!) I always find to be such a generous gesture... Yes, I have come to like Shark Fin soup (a common element of the usual 7 course meal) Andrew and Aiko's wedding was lots of fun. I really loved how they blended traditional customs while keeping things fun and relaxed. - It was certainly educational watching Aiko being dressed with her kumono. - Layer upon layer... it was a major procedure. Very beautiful as you can see. All the best to you both. Looking forward to working on the album. xoxo
PS. Yes, that's me with Santa! We had a great day of photographing little ones (including newborns!) with Santa at the Moms-to-Be... and More store last week. For all you moms who were disappointed you couldn't make it, we will be there again all day Saturday November 22, 2008. Bookings can be made in advance.
Bad blogger... I know, however I've had a painful time with Bell recently. Yes, our internet was down for a week!! Thank goodness for my iPhone ( - which I love! and could talk about for a day...) Life has been crazy, but lots of fun. Sometimes I feel like I'm spinning 10 plates at once... yet, there's nothing else I'd rather be doing in the whole world. I am so thankful for all the amazing people I get to meet ALL the time! I have photographed some of the most beautiful couples this year. I've listened to carefully chosen words of love and affirmation, celebrated with family and proud parents, partied on the dance floor, traveled, and made lots of friends along the way. I am so thankful.
Here are some pics from Stan & Helen's Wedding. It was a spectacular day!
I LOVE these photos! Christy and Julian made it so easy. Although it rained, the day still sparkled with a beautiful and simple ceremony on the dock, exquisite details and a relaxed bride and groom who enjoyed every minute. This wedding was particularly fun for me since my all time favourite female vocalist played at the reception!! The one and only Sarah McLaughin! It was an honor meeting her. The performance was spectacular. Special thanks to Brian Atkinson and Lori D'agostino, coordinators who I loved working with and who truly worked magic.
